But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.
Proverbs 1:33.
In a world filled with chaos, fear often thrives in the unknown. As followers of the Lord, we must anchor ourselves in the truth of where our real safety lies. Here is how we can quiet the fear of evil by shifting our focus:
- Trust the Provider, Not the Position: If you are worried about your job or losing your benefits, remember that your true security isn’t in your paycheck. Seek Him first, and trust that He has you firmly in His hands.
- Seek Direction for Your Marriage: When things get difficult, don’t stop doing what is right. Continue to seek the Lord, and He will provide the wisdom and direction you need to navigate your relationship.
- Release the Uncontrollable: Whether it is anxiety over your grown children or the future of our nation, some things are simply out of your control. Instead of carrying that weight, submit those fears to the Lord.
- Focus on Whom You Serve: Our adversary wants us to live in a state of constant worry. Remember that our confidence should not be based on what we know or can predict, but on the God we serve.
When we hearken to His voice and submit our lives to Him, He promises to quiet the noise of fear and provide a safe dwelling for our souls.
